HI HOPES represented at International Conference in Austria

Prof Claudine Storbeck and Dr Bianca Birdsey represented HI HOPES at the 3rd International FCEI Congress in Bad Ischl, Austria at the beginning of June. THRIVE parents support group was also represented by Debra Clelland.

This was a time of sharing with experts and colleagues from around the world. 37 countries were represented and almost half of the keynote addresses were presented by Deaf experts in the field. Professor Storbeck and Dr Birdsey collectively presented 2 pre conference workshops looking at parent to parent support initiation, as well as how to start an Early Intervention programme in a developing setting. They also presented 2 papers, exploring informed choice and heuristics.

This was a wonderful opportunity to announce the anticipated FCEI Africa and Developing World which will be hosted in Johannesburg towards the end of June 2017.
